A small firm, run by the two people you will meet.

We started Harewell Land in Hitchin to do one thing well: promote land in and around Hertfordshire with care for the owner and the village.

Where we come from

Land and planning, learned on the ground.

Between us we have spent two decades on planning applications, land agency and the construction side of new homes.

That last part matters. We know what a housebuilder will pay for a consented site, what it costs to build the roads and drains, and which promises made at planning stage survive contact with a building site. It keeps our advice to you honest.

We are independent. We are not owned by a housebuilder and we do not build ourselves, so there is no pressure to sell your land to one buyer at one price.

How we work

Few sites, taken seriously.

We take on a small number of sites at a time. Each one gets a named director, a written plan of work and a report to you every quarter, whether or not there is news.

We meet you on the land before anything is signed, and we walk the parish council through our proposals before the application goes in. Villages accept development they were consulted on. They fight development that arrives in the post.
